  • The Past Year

Good golly! Has it really been this long since I updated this!?

Over this past year I've had some good news and some bad news, lets start with the good news shall we?

    1. Mark and his girlfriend (now fiancee) have moved out, it was crowded with so many people here anyway.

    2. I brought my computer over here from my sisters place (still have some things over there that she want me to get) and got it hooked up to the internent.

    3. A long time friend of mine had her first child, a girl named Izabel McKenzie, she was born in July.

    4. My sister is pregnant again and is due soon.

    5. I went to JAFAX this year and I did my first cosplay, I wish I could have gotten pictures though, my roommate's camera's batteries were drained the day before. I was dressed in a red silk kimono, I had to adjust it a couple times because it started to unravel, and so did my hair. I got to meet a manga artist form Lansing and got autographed books from him. So over all I had fun, I hope to go next year.

    Now for the bad news:

    1. This is a combination of good and bad, we've had a total of seven kittens born, four in the first batch (two of which were given homes and the other two are still around. Then another was born but only lived about a week, the mother (Ming Ming) didn't take care of it. Then Annette, one of the youngest cats still not quite an adult, had a kitten named Scotty that lived to about three months before getting sick and died. Annette is now living at another house somewhere down the street from us. Ming Ming had another kitten recently, which lived to two weeks. The same day that kitten died we found it's father (Gaara) dead by the back porch, we think he died about a week before the kitten, probably either as a result of his flea allergy or he tried to jump from our roof to the neighbors shed and slipped and broke his neck on the fence, we didn't check his neck though. And finally last night we found a cat near the front porch practically skin and bones, we tried to feed it but it was too weak to eat so he died of starvation a couple hours later.

    2. Two of my roommates (Daisha and Josh) broke up and Josh moved out. What was the last straw for them was Josh lit a portion of Daisha's hair on fire during an argument.

  • GR Pillow Fight!

On Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 2:00 pm EST there was a massive pillow fight at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was one of the first to charge into the mass of pillows. This is a link to an article and a video shot by WZZM 13 News - http://www.wzzm13.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=99194
This was a blast! My glasses were knocked off a few times, but fortunately I was able to pick them back up in time before someone had stepped on them. One of my roommates wasn't so lucky, his were stepped on. In the video you can see a few shots of another of my roommates, he's waring an all black garb that he usually wares at The Haunt,  he and his girlfriend work there every year, he looks like an executioner. Facebook has plenty of photos on this. My roommates and I are in a few of them, especially Mark, the one in the executioner outfit.

  • Catch Up Time!

It certainly has been quite a while since I last updadted this, exactly 3 months. A lot as happened, so I've been very busy, though I cannot discuss the details because the main situation is still pending. What I can say is JAFAX went very well, I got a great deal on some manga, buy 4 get the 5th free, so I got Shugo Chara volumes 1-4 and Chibi Vampire volume 4, it only cost me about $50. I also discovered some yaoi anime that I've never heard of that I'd still like to check out, one that really interested me was called Princess Princess. I'd like to do some cosplay for next year, my hair should be long enough to do Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist. I went to a friends' from the Anime Club for the 4th of July, alot more people had shown up than she had expected, so her house was packed; we watched some anime, The Cat Returns and Utawarerumono (which I had brought over) as well as Final Fantasy VII Advent Children.
